Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information Noven collects when you visit this website or get in touch, why, and what rights you have over it. It's written in plain English on purpose — if anything is unclear, email hello@noven.uk and I'll explain it properly.
Who this covers
Noven is a sole-trader web design and hosting business based in Wirral, Merseyside, United Kingdom. For the purposes of data protection law, Noven is the "data controller" for the information described below.
What information is collected
This site collects the minimum needed to do its job:
- Enquiry details. If you use the Start form or email directly, I collect your name, email address and whatever you write in your message.
- Basic technical data. The hosting provider automatically logs standard server data (such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested) for security and reliability. This site does not use tracking cookies, advertising pixels or third-party analytics.
Why it's collected
Enquiry details are used for one purpose: to reply to you personally and, if it goes further, to put together a mockup and discuss building or hosting a website for your business. The legal basis for this is legitimate interest — responding to a message you chose to send — or, where a contract follows, performance of that contract.
How long it's kept
Enquiry details are kept for as long as is reasonably useful to the conversation, and are deleted once an enquiry is clearly closed and there's no ongoing reason to keep it — typically within 12 months. If you become a client, your details are kept for as long as you use Noven's services and for a reasonable period afterwards for accounting and legal purposes.
Who else sees it
Form submissions and hosting are handled by reputable infrastructure providers acting as data processors on Noven's behalf (currently Netlify, Inc.), under their own data processing terms consistent with UK GDPR, including Article 28 processor obligations. Your information is never sold, and is never shared with anyone for marketing purposes.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you can ask to:
- see what information is held about you;
- have inaccurate information corrected;
- have your information deleted;
- object to how your information is used.
To do any of this, email hello@noven.uk. If you're not satisfied with the response, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Security
Reasonable technical and organisational measures are used to keep your information secure, appropriate to a small business handling a modest volume of contact and client data.
Changes to this policy
